Kustermans Day Camp Counsellor

Camp Kustermans is an outdoor farm camp committed to providing a safe and memorable experience for each of our campers. We strive to get to know our camp families and provide a welcoming atmosphere to everyone.

Campers enjoy sports, crafts, inflatables, games, songs, baking, berry picking, themes, and daily admission to Kustermans Adventure Farm. We are dedicated to providing a quality program that will create lasting memories for our campers. Camp Kustermans preferred Day Camp Counsellor is a responsible highschool senior or university/college student. This position would offer valuable experience for someone looking forward to a career in teaching, ECE, child development, recreation & leisure.

Qualifications & Experience

Age 16+

Experience working children, preferably in a camp setting

Trustworthy, Enthusiastic, Reliable

Ability to take direction and give direction

Problem Solver

Excellent Communication Skills – with parents, staff, and children

Works well independently as well as part of a team

Creative; enjoys crafting, leading songs and games and dressing up

Enjoys being outdoors and being active

First Aid / CPR-C & Clean vulnerable sector police record check Responsibilities and Expectations of the Counsellor include

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of campers

Act as a positive role model

Under the supervision of the Director, implement an enriching program involving crafts, baking, sports, games, songs, and more

Plan and Supervise Before & After Camp Activities

Take Attendance, and ensure that campers are picked up by their approved adult each afternoon

Work cooperatively as part of the Camp Team; attend meetings

Set up and clean up of supplies and activities as well as setup and take down inflatable

activities .

Assist Campers with with water refills, lunch, sunscreen

Ensure that all safety rules and policies of Kustermans Adventure Farm are followed

Perform other related duties as assigned

Employment Contract

July 1st through August 30th 2024

Training Day will be held earlier on a weekend

Leadership Program

Register for Camp Kustermans Leadership Program and spend a week alongside our experienced team building confidence and gaining valuable experience for a future job working with children. You will learn how to safely supervise inflatables, organize and lead games and crafts. 

Learn new skills in an exciting environment...and have some fun while you are at it!
